About Ivy

As a seasoned guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience, I've had the privilege of guiding students of all ages through the intricate world of music. My journey with the guitar began from a young age, sparked by a deep passion for jazz, blues, and fingerstyle genres. Over the years, I've honed my skills not only as a performer but also as a dedicated educator, committed to helping my students unlock their musical potential.

Beyond teaching, I find immense joy in exploring diverse musical expressions. Whether it's diving into the complexities of jazz harmony or crafting soulful blues riffs, music is not just a profession but a lifelong passion. Outside the realm of guitars and melodies, I enjoy immersing myself in nature through hiking adventures and capturing its beauty through photography. These experiences enrich my teaching, allowing me to bring a blend of creativity and technical proficiency to each lesson.

I believe in fostering a supportive learning environment where students can explore their musical interests freely. From mastering foundational techniques to exploring advanced improvisation, my goal is to empower students to express themselves through music while nurturing a deep appreciation for its artistry and craftsmanship.

About the lesson

With over 12 years of experience in guitar instruction, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to each lesson. My teaching style is deeply rooted in personalized learning, where I tailor lessons to the unique interests and goals of each student, ensuring an engaging and fulfilling experience for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner exploring the basics or an advanced student delving into complex jazz improvisation, my aim is to cultivate a solid foundation in theory, technique, and musical expression.

I place a strong emphasis on practical application, encouraging students to not only understand music theory but also to integrate it seamlessly into their playing. From mastering chord progressions in blues to intricate fingerstyle patterns, each lesson is designed to build confidence and proficiency. I believe in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where creativity thrives, allowing students to explore their musical potential while developing a deep appreciation for the rich traditions of jazz, blues, and fingerstyle guitar.

My lessons go beyond technical skill development to encompass the artistry and creativity essential to becoming a well-rounded musician. Whether you aspire to perform on stage, compose your own music, or simply enjoy playing for personal enrichment, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your musical goals with enthusiasm and expertise.
