About Tanja

Hello and welcome! My name is Tanja, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with you one-on-one. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background. I was born and raised in Bremen, Germany, where I spent the first 30 years of my life. My studies in German and Sports led me to earn a Master’s degree in Education and teaching credentials for grades 1 through 10. I began my teaching career in Germany, where I taught German, English, French, and Sports, and also enjoyed tutoring students all ages and levels individually to help them achieve their goals. A few years ago, I moved to the US, where I continued my passion for teaching by working as a 4th-grade teacher in a private school. In that role, I taught bilingual German-English subjects and gained valuable experience in helping students thrive in a one-on-one setting. With over 10 years of experience, I have taught learners from complete beginners to those preparing for the B1 German exam, as well as providing Business German. In addition, my background in the relocation and global mobility field has allowed me to combine language learning with cultural training, helping students feel confident and prepared for real-world communication. I am excited to bring this experience to our tutoring sessions.

My aim is to make our time together both engaging and effective, tailoring our sessions to fit your unique learning needs and interests, whether for school, work, relocation, or exam success. I am committed to ensuring that you feel confident and supported as you work towards your goals.

My Approach as a Tutor:
I use a personalized, student-centered teaching method, combining interactive exercises, real-life conversation practice, and structured grammar lessons. I focus on making learning both practical and enjoyable, ensuring that each lesson is adapted to your level, goals, and learning style.

• Warm-up & review of previous material
• Introduction of new concepts (vocabulary, grammar, or cultural insights)
• Interactive practice: speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises

• Summary & homework/recommendations tailored to your learning pace

What Sets Me Apart:
I bring over 10 years of experience teaching all ages, from children and teenagers to young adults and professionals. My background in relocation, global mobility, and cultural training allows me to integrate practical, real-world language use into lessons. I also teach Business German and Business English, making my lessons highly relevant for professional contexts.
