About Sonia
I am a high school teacher and teach at underprivileged minority schools. I am bilingual in Spanish. I have a passion for teaching mathematics and helping my students excel academically and in the real world. Gaining my students trust and respect is key in assisting them excel in my class and future math courses. My students have learned to relieve their math anxiety and enjoy learning math with their classmates, through exploration and trail and error. My teaching style has allowed my students not to fear math, pass the CAHSEE, and score well on state exams and the SAT/ACT. In addition, I enjoy devoting time in assisting my students with their financial aid and college/work applications/resume.

I approach each topic by reconnecting prior knowledge to new unit/lessons, such that my warm-ups are designed as review for the new lesson or projects.
