About JOSHUA
I'm a mathematics and statistics tutor with several years' experience, four years at degree level at the University of Bath and then afterwards moving to private tutoring in person and online on tutorful. I have been a private tutor for a few years covering a wide range of qualifications, from GCSE mathematics, to A level mathematics and further mathematics, to introductory statistics and mathematics for degree courses including engineering, computer science and business. I try to break down ideas as simply as possible and really focus on the student's practical understanding of problems. My main priority is obviously to help people through their exams and so I keep this in mind but also try to make the process as enjoyable as possible along the way with my teaching style. I have had a lot of positive feedback on how students' abilities and confidence improve in the past.

Currently I teach mathematics and statistics from year 11 upwards to undergraduate. Lessons are done through LearnCube for their online classroom features such as whiteboard and drawing tools. Typically I teach weekly one-hour lessons for A level or GCSE students to either complement school work or to fill in gaps or weaker areas. I focus on solving problems and the main concepts, adapting to the needs of the student. I work with the standard textbooks and specification material and also create my own questions for extra practice. I would say my main strength is being able to take a difficult problem and provide concrete steps for tackling that problem to a student. I can help students to build confidence in their abilities, improve their grades and enjoy the process along the way.
