About the lesson

I take a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring, tailored to each student's needs and learning style. My lessons combine core theory, practical examples, and active problem-solving. I believe in building a strong foundational understanding, then applying it to more complex problems using real-world context where possible. This method helps students gain confidence, not just memorise procedures. For students preparing for exams, I focus on identifying gaps in understanding early, developing exam technique, and building a strategy for tackling even the hardest questions. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I can offer 90-minute sessions for more intensive support or revision. I provide follow-up materials, optional homework, and regular progress reviews to track improvement. I have a strong background in mathematics, consistently performing at the top of my class and utilising my skills professionally in finance and data analysis. I’m currently working in financial services and studying towards the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, having already completed several rigorous exams, including Management Information and Accounting. I’ve also tutored peers and younger students informally for years, and I understand how to break down complex topics in a calm and engaging manner.
