About David

After 18 years of working in the banking and consulting sector I have decided to take a career break to return to what I enjoy doing the most, teaching mathematics. I am a natural teacher with a lifelong passion for maths. I have more than twelve years of experience tutoring anywhere from grade 1 up to third year university level. I have also explained the power of maths to solve business problems to hundreds of people during my time in the corporate sector. I am currently seeking tutoring roles where I can inspire the next generation with a love of maths. I am a high energy person who loves to work with young people and currently do so in two different roles.

About the lesson

I have a PhD in maths from Monash. I have more than twelve year experience in teaching maths from grade 1 up to third year university.

My approach is to engage with the student to assess what their goals, interest and skill level is. I also find out what the student is interested in (such as sports) as I can bring maths examples from a wide range of areas.

I teach with the goal of helping the student reach their potential and maximise academic performance. This includes how to prepare for exams and how to score well on assignments.

A typical session lasts one hour.

I will teach high school maths from year 7 up to VCE level.
I can also teach most first year university maths subjects and some second year subjects.
