About Marcus

I’m a tutor with a unique path through education. I struggled with school, unable to concentrate in class or complete homework, and eventually dropped out at 16 because I just couldn’t connect with it. At 17, while working full-time, I decided to take my education and future into my own hands, studying independently and discovering a new appreciation for learning. Motivated by my progression, I applied to a prestigious sixth form for A-level subjects I was truly passionate about. To secure my place, I had to excel in an ability test and essay, as these were subjects I hadn’t previously studied. I succeeded, earning a bursary spot and later going on to complete a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Immersive Technologies from the University of Bristol. Currently, I work as a software engineer at one of the Big 6 advertising agencies, specialising in immersive content and A.I. I've also supported my younger brother, who has mild learning difficulties, through his GCSEs and A Levels—he's now studying Software Engineering at Keele University.

About the lesson

I believe the best tutoring approach is one that focuses on understanding and honing each student's strengths and identifying their problem areas. My sessions are tailored to help students build confidence where they excel and provide targeted support where they struggle. I also offer practical exam and coursework techniques to help students achieve their best possible outcomes.
