About Me

Hello! My name is Serafime, and I am an engineering graduate with a background in mechanical engineering.

I have practical experience working with SolidWorks and CATIA, as well as experience in real engineering and manufacturing environments. Through my studies and professional work, I have used CAD not only for academic exercises, but also for solving practical engineering problems and developing mechanical designs.

In addition to my engineering experience, I have 4 years of tutoring experience in Mathematics and Physics. Teaching these subjects has helped me develop a patient and structured teaching style, as well as the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and understandable way. I have worked with students with different levels of knowledge and adapted my approach to their individual needs.

I believe these teaching skills are just as important as technical knowledge when learning SolidWorks. My lessons are therefore focused on understanding rather than memorizing. I explain not only which tools to use, but also why and when to use them, helping students develop proper modeling and engineering thinking.

Whether you are starting SolidWorks from zero, need help with a university project, or want to improve your mechanical CAD skills, I will adapt the lessons to your current level and goals.

My goal is to help you become confident enough to use SolidWorks independently and solve real design problems—not simply follow a tutorial step by step.

My approach as a SolidWorks tutor

My teaching method and techniques

My teaching approach is practical, structured, and adapted to each student's level and goals. I believe the best way to learn SolidWorks is by actually designing parts and assemblies rather than only learning the software interface.

I explain each concept step by step, demonstrate it in SolidWorks, and then guide the student while they apply the same technique themselves. I also explain the engineering principles behind the tools, so students understand not only how to use a feature, but also when and why to use it.

I can provide exercises and real-world examples covering sketching, part modelling, assemblies, technical drawings, and design modifications. For more advanced students, I focus on improving modelling strategy, design intent, efficiency, and professional CAD practices.

A typical lesson

A typical lesson begins with a short review of the previous topic and a discussion of the student's current goals or difficulties.

Then I introduce the new concept and demonstrate it step by step in SolidWorks. After the demonstration, the student works on a similar task independently while I guide them and correct mistakes.

A typical lesson structure is:

1. 5–10 minutes: Review previous material and answer questions.
2. 10–20 minutes: Introduce and demonstrate the new concept.
3. 25–35 minutes: Practical exercise with guidance.
4. 10 minutes: Independent task and problem-solving.
5. 5 minutes: Review, feedback, and recommendations for practice.

The exact structure can be adjusted depending on the student's level and objectives.

What sets me apart as a tutor

My focus is not simply on teaching where different buttons and commands are located. I want students to develop the ability to think like a CAD designer and engineer.

I have practical experience with mechanical design and CAD software, including SolidWorks and CATIA, and I use this experience to explain professional modelling techniques and common mistakes.

I also adapt my teaching to the student's goals. Someone learning SolidWorks for university will need a different approach from someone preparing for a job, working on a personal project, or trying to improve their professional CAD skills.

My goal is for students to finish lessons being able to solve similar problems independently, rather than simply copying the steps I demonstrate.
