About Jasmine

Hi there! I'm Jasmine - thank you for visiting my profile. I'm a 3rd year medical student and have been a tutor for many years. Tutoring has always worked so well with my nature and I'm really keen to get working with new students.

My Qualifications:
A Level: Biology, Chemistry, Maths (A*A*A*)
GCSE: English Lit/Lan(9,9), Maths (9), Chemistry (A*), Biology (A*), Physics (A*), Geography (A*), History (A*), French (A*)

I have a passionate for working with young people and find, being a student myself, I can relate to and support my students perhaps in ways more mature tutors can't. Over the years I've established sustained rapports with the young people I've taught, creating an environment in the lesson space where they feel listened to and comfortable enough to make mistakes, knowing that it is all part of learning. I have a track record of improving grades, whilst having enjoyable lessons with students of all abilities. Have experience working with students who have special requirements such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

I am enrolled at The University of Edinburgh, due to graduate in 2025 and have been academically curious and passionate since as long as I can remember. My particular interests are human anatomy, gastrointestinal and lifestyle medicine at the moment. Watercolour painting, reading and photography are some of the things I enjoy in my personal life. Words to summarise me: patient, compassionate, optimistic, welcoming.

I love the work I do and know for certain teaching will be an integrous part of my life, whichever path I take.

About the lesson

Students often let me know what topic they would like to cover in our session in advance. I prepare a lesson plan which typically includes: our learning aims, relevant notes we need to learn, examples for me to demonstrate and exam style questions to finally check our understanding of the topic we've covered

My lessons follow a 2-way conversation, as I've found that keeps my students engaged throughout and makes them think. I'm always open to feedback and altering lesson structures if students know they learn better in certain ways.
