About Blue

Hi again, my name is Blue. I am a mother of two, a girl 5 years and a boy 10 months. And we are a house where emotions are welcomed… I’ve always loved to dance since as long as I can remember. I’ve done ballet, praise dancing, hip hop, salsa, Afro, and more! And my children love dancing too! We are a musical family, but of course, we don’t stop there… having my own and working with children most of my life, I understand that since birth we use our emotions to communicate with not only one another but ourselves, which is why I have this phrase “shake the sadness out” because who can have a frown when you're dancing. I created this with my daughter when she would have a hard time studying or learning or just getting frustrated. I would allow her to have a break and say let’s shake the sadness out (even at times she doesn’t feel in the mood to) and we sing the shake the sadness out song while dancing and she would laugh and play and I would remember (which I still do) having songs that would remind me of what I needed to know and a lot of times they came with little dances that helped me even with simple tasks in life and I do the same with my children… Growing up, music and dancing have always been my life to help me feel better or to release some feelings when I couldn’t say words. I said one day I’m going to show this to the world. And this is what I’m now sharing with you.

About the lesson

My name is Blue, you can call me your new favorite color. You know how you see things even if it’s something you usually wouldn’t get, but it is in your favorite color and it makes it 10 times better or just what you would like. That is what I’m bringing to you, being that extra push or joy to show you how dancing can help you handle a lot of your emotions. I work with all ages from 0 to 100 years. Literally, I say if you’re alive you can move, that means you can be happy. Each session will be adjusted to each person's music, stretches, choreography, and targeted meditation. The sessions will be very diverse, and it is very important to create a safe space where everyone is comfortable, so it can be anywhere. Don’t get me wrong. The sessions will be very fun, but it’s also very vulnerable and can be challenging mentally, even physically at times. But this is important because we are releasing bad energy and it’s all mental, so the point of it all is for your brain to send signals to your body, which helps you in your everyday life.
