About Mandy
Hey there! My name is Mandy. I am a mother of two wonderful boys and I am a student at Sacramento State College , majoring in Child Development with a minor in ASL. I will graduate after this last semester and continue on to obtain my teaching credential. I have12 years of teaching experience, working with children ages 2-13; both general education and special education. I am currently a stay-at-home mom while continuing my education online. I decided to get into tutoring because I can do what I love while also finishing my education and being there for my children. Writing has always been my favorite subject and I love everything about it! I can't wait to meet you or your child and work hard and have fun!

My teaching approach is to first get to know the child. I believe that each lesson plan should be unique to fit the unique needs of the child. First I like to find out what interests the child, where they are in terms of writing skills, their hobbies, strengths and weaknesses, as well as their likes and dislikes. I typically do not work with children over the age of 15 years old, and I like to see some writing samples from the child or have a good idea of what they need to work on beforehand. I believe in making learning fun and interactive!
