About Carrie

I am a passionate and hardworking drum tutor with 10 years of teaching experience. I teach students from high school, college, and elderly age groups. I have guided around 150 to 200 students on their musical journey. A special milestone in my career was when many of my students started performing confidently at school and college functions. Some of them even joined bands. Their growth motivates me to continue improving as a teacher. I believe learning drums should be fun and pressure-free. I focus on rhythm clarity, timing, hand coordination, and posture. I explain everything in a simple way so students can understand easily. For elderly learners, I provide relaxed and comfortable lessons. For younger learners, I focus on confidence, discipline, and stage performance. I always support my students with patience and encouragement. Teaching drums is my passion, and my goal is to help every student grow with confidence and joy.

My teaching methodology for drums is based on strong Communication, Creativity in practice, and Flexibility in lesson planning. I believe that every student can learn effectively when the environment is positive, clear, and free from pressure. I start each lesson by discussing the student’s learning goal—whether they want to improve technique, learn songs, understand rhythm, or prepare for performances. Clear communication helps me design lessons that match exactly what the student expects. Creativity is a key part of how I teach drums. Instead of only focusing on repeated drills, I create interactive rhythm exercises that make students enjoy the process. I use simple but effective methods like clapping patterns, body percussion, improvisation tasks, and groove-building sessions. Students also get opportunities to play along with audio tracks in different genres like rock, pop, jazz, and funk. This helps them understand timing, coordination, and musical flow. Creative exercises make students feel more connected to the instrument and keep them motivated through each stage. Flexibility allows me to adjust my teaching for each student’s learning style. Some learn by watching demonstrations, some learn by repeating small steps, and others learn by trying full songs first. I observe how each student responds and adapt the technique accordingly. If the student finds a lesson difficult, I simplify it or switch to a different activity that leads to the same skill. My goal is to make learning smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. Besides drum lessons, I can also teach related subjects such as rhythm training, beginner music theory, and performance skills. I make sure that students not only learn how to play but also understand the music behind what they play. I focus on building confidence, discipline, and artistic thinking. With my approach, students grow steadily and develop a strong foundation that supports both creativity and technical skill.
