My lessons in Maths and Science are built around one idea: understanding beats memorising. I've got a software engineering background and I'm currently doing my Master's at LSE, so most of my day-to-day is spent breaking complex problems into simple, logical steps which is what I would bring to lessons.
I start by figuring out where a student's actually stuck, then work backwards from there using examples they can relate to. Pace is flexible; if something clicks fast, we push on to harder problems or past papers; if it needs more time, we slow down and rebuild it properly instead of rushing past the gap.
