About Luigi
Hi! I’m Luigi, a passionate tutor with 8+ years of experience guiding high school students and over 4 years tutoring and teaching university-level physics and mathematics. I completed my Master’s in Theoretical Physics at Leiden University, Netherlands. Overall, I’ve worked with over 500 students from wildly diverse backgrounds, adapting my methods to fit different learning styles, nationalities, and academic goals. Originally from Italy, where I was undergrad in Physics and Math, I now live in the Netherlands for my career, teaching in international settings and staying deeply connected to student life. I know that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming—when you first see a problem, it might look like an undecipherable code. But trust me, with the right approach, you’ll not only understand it fully but also solve it independently.

How My Teaching Works
Most tutoring is about memorizing formulas or following step-by-step solutions. But that’s not real understanding.
My method is about:
— Restructuring your thought process so you can break down problems from first principles.
— Training your intuition so math and physics feel natural, not like a rigid set of rules.
— If you wish, shifting your mindset from “I just need to pass” to “I actually get this now.”
I don’t just explain concepts—I guide you to discover them yourself. Part of my method is rooted in Socratic questioning: instead of feeding you answers, I lead you through the right questions, so that you arrive at the solution naturally. This way, learning isn’t passive—it’s something you build yourself, making it stronger and more lasting.
I treat each student as an individual puzzle—some need structure, some need curiosity, some need to be pushed outside their comfort zone. I adjust my lessons to how you think best, because no two students process information the same way. If you love understanding the “why” behind things, we’ll dig into the big picture. If you need quick, clear methods to ace tests or exams, I’ll give you the best tools to master the essentials. If you want to become independent in studying, I’ll help you develop a self-sufficient learning method.
What You Can Expect
— Problem inversion and reverse engineering—instead of just solving exercises, we deconstruct problems backward to see how they’re built. This way, you don’t just learn how to solve one type of question; you gain the tools to break down any problem you face.
I also introduce mental frameworks that help you not just in math or physics, but in learning anything.
You’ll develop:
— Pattern recognition – Seeing the structures behind problems so you don’t get stuck
— Abstraction skills – Learning to generalize from specific examples. So, you can solve a class of problems not just the specific ones we do together.
In short, what I am going to give you is:
— Engaging, personalized lessons tailored to your way of thinking.
— A clear, structured approach if you need efficiency.
— A curiosity-driven approach if you love deeper insights.
— A proven method to make studying easier and enjoyable.
Full adaptation to your personality & learning style.
My goal? That you won’t need me anymore. By the time we’re done, you’ll have developed your own way of learning and thinking, so that studying becomes a skill you own, not a burden you endure.
Side Note: I’m aware that my hourly rate is quite low, which might seem surprising given my qualifications and experience. The reason is simple—I genuinely love teaching, and financial gain isn’t my primary motivation.
Subjects I Can Teach You
— Physics & Mathematics – Any topic at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
— Computer Science – Whether you want to grasp the fundamentals of programming so you can learn any language with ease, master Python, or apply coding to specific projects, I can guide you.
— High School Subjects – Physics, mathematics (from algebra and geometry to logic), and chemistry.
— Languages – English and Italian at a native level.
My job isn’t to make you depend on me—it’s to make you outgrow tutoring entirely.
Most of my students start off thinking they’ll never get math or physics, and within weeks, they find themselves saying:
"Wait… I actually understand this now."
And when that happens, my work is done.
Let’s improve the way you learn — permanently ;)
