About Hella
I am a multidisciplinary artist and educator with experience teaching creative practices through patient, supportive, and engaging instruction. My work combines technical skill-building with artistic exploration, helping students feel confident developing both craft and personal style.
I especially enjoy working with people who do not see themselves as “creative” or who feel intimidated by art-making. My teaching invites students into play, experimentation, and the joy of creating without pressure to be perfect. I believe printmaking can be both grounding and liberating, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where students can explore, make mistakes, and discover new forms of expression.
Whether you are completely new to block printing or looking to deepen your existing practice, I provide clear guidance, constructive feedback, and lessons tailored to your goals and learning style.

I teach block printing as both a technical craft and a creative practice. My lessons are hands-on, personalized, and welcoming to beginners as well as experienced artists looking to expand their skills. Students learn carving techniques, image transfer, ink application, printing methods, and how to develop their own visual style and creative confidence.
A typical lesson might include sketch development, carving demonstrations, guided printing exercises, and experimentation with texture, layering, and composition. I focus on helping students build strong foundational skills while also encouraging play, exploration, and personal expression.
