About Zeyou
I study musicology in Leipzig and completed my music theory module with top marks (grade 1.0). I previously worked as a tutor at the university, where I supported students in understanding and applying music theory concepts.
In my free time, I play viola in a local string ensemble and regularly compose and arrange pieces for our performances. I also have practical experience in orchestral conducting and rehearsal management.
This hands-on background flows directly into my teaching — offering a lively and applied approach to music that goes beyond theory alone.

I teach music theory with an open, practice-oriented approach. Depending on your interests, we can explore the fundamentals of harmony, ear training, composition, instrumentation, and score notation — or dive into new topics together.
During my studies, I’ve worked with and analyzed pieces ranging from the Baroque era to postmodern music. This allows me to offer insights into theoretical concepts across different musical periods and explain them in a clear, accessible way.
To practice the theories, I use the notation software MuseScore to visually and aurally demonstrate the key ideas.
As a former university tutor, I’ve helped students review seminar content and learned how important it is to respond flexibly to questions and moments of confusion.
My goal isn’t to follow a rigid curriculum, but to understand music together — step by step, with curiosity and clarity.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, hobby musicians, school students, university students, or simply curious minds who want to understand music more deeply or start composing themselves.
Score reading is helpful but not required — I adapt each lesson to your level and goals.
This lesson is mainly held in German or English. On special demand, I could also teach in Chinese or Japanese.
