I began my career as an intern at the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit, where I contributed to the development of a machine learning model that predicted money laundering cases with 99% accuracy. This experience fueled my passion for merging technology with finance, guiding me toward projects that unlock the power of data for valuation and pricing. At Wellington Management, I had the privilege of working as an Investment Compliance Co-op, where I automated daily reporting processes using VBA. This automation significantly reduced reporting time and allowed the compliance team to focus on strategic business initiatives. During my tenure as a Data Engineer at Amazon, I managed complex workflows and consolidated datasets from diverse internal teams. One such project is Sapling, a fundamental equity valuation model I developed using Jupyter Notebooks. By analyzing SEC financial statements and leveraging key financial metrics, I was able to predict the average quarterly stock price with a strong historical backtest, outperforming market rates over the past decade. This project gave me hands-on experience with tools like MongoDB, Pandas, and Sci-Kit Learn, while also deepening my understanding of both fundamental financial health indicators and short-term trading strategies.
