About Michelle

My name is Michelle Zhou. I come from Guangdong province, China. I can speak Chinese, English, Cantonese, Hunan dialect and Japanese. I am currently studying for a bachelor's degree in linguistics in China, and I have obtained a certificate of English Tour Guide and a certificate of Mandarin, which is required for being a teacher in China. In addition, I am good at calligraphy and paper-cutting. I like travelling and experiencing different cultures, so I have made many foreign friends. I am easy-going, approachable and ambitious, and recently I was preparing to get the certificate of international Chinese teacher, Chinese-English translation certificate, Japanese N1 and teacher certificate.
I have taught English and Chinese in different institutions in China for two years, mainly to primary and high school students. And served as a foreign teacher's assistant for a month. In addition, I have attended many language learning meetups to exchange languages with foreign friends.

About the lesson

My courses will be based on students' needs. To beginners, provide a basic course of learning Pinyin; to intermediate students, provide courses on different topics via PowerPoint; to advanced students, I will focus on their oral Chinese. In addition, I can teach daily usages of Cantonese and Hunan dialect if students are interested in it.
My teaching style is two-way communication. Before class, I will contact students, know their Chinese level and their needs, to prepare for the class. During the class, I will start with a game to stimulate students' interest via PowerPoint. After class, I will arrange some assignments and share something related to students if they need them.
