About Tina

I am a native Chinese speaker born and raised in Beijing. I pursued my postgraduate master's degree in the UK, which gave me deep insight into how English-speaking learners think and learn a new language.

I have devoted over a decade to language teaching, working with students from North America and Europe. I truly love connecting with people from different cultures through Chinese language. For me, teaching is far more than just explaining vocabulary and grammar. I enjoy watching my students grow in confidence as they start to express their ideas, share stories and explore Chinese culture in their own words.

I create a relaxed, lively classroom atmosphere so you will feel safe to speak, make mistakes and progress steadily. I'm patient, flexible and always ready to adjust my teaching style to match your learning pace and personal goals. I look forward to helping you on your Chinese learning journey!

About the lesson

1. My techniques and teaching methodology

My lessons are student-centered. I use the flipped classroom approach and prioritize high interaction. I guide learners to practice Chinese actively in class instead of passive listening. I adapt materials according to each student's goals, mixing real-life scenarios, cultural examples and targeted grammar practice.

2. Typical length of a lesson

Lessons are usually 60 minutes. 45-minute sessions are also available upon request.

3. My qualifications/experience as a tutor

I am a native Beijing Chinese speaker. I hold a Master's degree from the UK and a Chinese government officially issued senior high school teaching qualification. I have more than 10 years of online and offline teaching experience, and I have taught learners from the United States, Sweden and other North American and European countries. I speak fluent English to ensure clear communication.

4. Who the lessons are for (level, age, etc.)

Suitable for teenage and adult learners of all Chinese levels: absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Whether you want daily conversational Chinese, exam preparation or cultural understanding, the lessons can be customized for you.
