About Chloe

Hello there! My name is Chloé, and I'm 17 years old living in New York City. I have grown up both Francophone and Anglophone, and I've been tutoring French for 3 years now. My approach to fun and engaging French practice sparked from noticing the way endless worksheets filled with grammar questions were neither interesting nor effective ways of supporting students with their French practice. I've always loved learning languages, and have found that practicing a language in conversation is both the most effective and most engaging way to build confidence in a language. I love literature, music, and traveling. However, my interest can be sparked by anything and I am looking forward to hearing all about what you're interested in - to tailor a French session specifically to you!

About the lesson

“French practice should be fun, not forced.” As a passionate, bilingual 17 year-old French tutor for elementary and middle school students, this is the philosophy I bring to every session. I make language learning natural, engaging, and conversational — because the best way to master a language is through practice. Each lesson is tailored to your child’s interests, combining conversational games and interactive activities that build confidence and fluency in an encouraging environment. A typical session includes themed discussions, vocabulary play, and supportive challenges that help students step beyond their comfort zone. I also assist with French reading, writing, and homework, keeping these sessions structured yet enjoyable. What sets my tutoring apart is my ability to adapt every lesson to the unique goals and interests of each student and their parents, ensuring a personalized and well-rounded learning experience. I have been tutoring French for three years, and I have been Francophone my entire life - it is one of my two native languages, the other being English.
