About Baya

Hi! I’m Baya, a native French speaker from the South of France, now living in Sydney

I’m curious by nature and love traveling, discovering new cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. I’ve lived and studied in France, Italy and Germany before moving to Australia, so languages and cultural differences have always been a big part of my life.

Outside of teaching, you’ll usually find me reading, traveling, attempting to improve my surfing, exploring Sydney or sitting in a café having a conversation that lasts much longer than planned.

I have a background in Political Science and a Master’s in Business & Marketing, and I’ve been teaching French for around 3 years alongside my studies and work.

I’m friendly, patient and easy-going, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know my students. If you want to practice French without feeling like you’re back in a classroom, we’ll probably get along!

About the lesson

My lessons are all about speaking French and actually feeling comfortable doing it.

We’ll mainly focus on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and natural expressions, using topics that genuinely interest you. Travel, culture, everyday life, current topics, work, dating, that weird French expression you heard somewhere… anything that gets us talking!

I adapt every lesson to your level and goals. I’ll correct your pronunciation and mistakes as we go, explain basic grammar when useful, and help you find more natural ways to express yourself, without turning the lesson into an hour of grammar exercises.

I’ve been teaching French for around 3 years, from beginners to advanced speakers, and my goal is always the same: create a relaxed space where you’re not afraid to make mistakes and gradually become more fluent and confident.

Basically: less textbook French, more French you’ll actually use.
