About Yume

My name is Yume. I’m from Saitama Prefecture and currently living in Australia. I love teaching Japanese because I enjoy sharing Japanese culture, daily life, and the little details that don’t always appear in textbooks.

I’m a big fan of traveling and love discovering new places and feeling the excitement of new adventures. I’ve been playing volleyball since secondary school and still enjoy playing in Australia. I also love staying active, so hiking and surfing are some of my favorite activities, and I’m always excited to explore new spots.

Recently, I’ve started cooking and baking, and I’m really enjoying learning new recipes.

About the lesson

Please book a trial lesson and let’s learn Japanese together! In my classes, I always aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where students feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes. I truly love seeing my students improve and gain confidence.

In my lessons, I share not only the Japanese language, but also culture, customs, and small everyday details that may feel natural to Japanese people but are often surprising to learners.

For the past two years, I have been teaching both face-to-face and online lessons in Australia, working with a wide range of students from children to adults.

Perfect! Yume is an outstanding teacher. There are people who know the subject matter and then people who can TEACH the subject matter. Yume is the latter. Yume knows when I'm not confident with a phrase and jots in down to test me again later. She is so patient and understanding, giving me time to work out the sentence in my head without interrupting. She is non judgemental and appreciates the effort it takes to learn a second language. We have fun in our lessons and the lessons go very quickly because I'm engaged and enjoying myself - it's not a chore at all. She continually checks in, gives me opportunities to ask questions for clarification and then recaps the lesson at the end. Highly recommended.
