About MAYUKO

May is from Japan and is a native Japanese speaker. Having great fasciation in languages, she obtained B.A in Linguistic and English Literature at Kinjo University, Japan. She has a strong passion in teaching. She has 4 years of English tutoring experience for local high school English learners in Japan. As a career, I was an instructor in travel industry for years. Teaching is always her passion no matter what she teaches. Since moving to the US, in 2004, she has been teaching Japanese on and off from children to adults as a volunteer at high schools, colleges and other places. She has been teaching online since 2020. She establishes more than just a student- teacher relationships and most of her students loves her and stays with her for over years. She has deep knowledgeable in Japanese history and culture as well as Anime and all travel information.

Thank you for your interest! My appreciation goes not only to your checking my profile, but also I appreciate your interest in Japanese language and culture.

I am an open minded, friendly, multicultural experienced tutor of Japanese languages.
I am a mother of 2 teenagers, an ANIME fan, a world traveler, and a karate mom with 4 years of online teaching experience + 15 year of volunteering teaching in Japanese.

Please let me know what your goal is. Let me help you to achieve your goal.

Perfect! Mayさん is very kind and patient. I don't feel nervous or awkward as I practice with her and her encouragement is warm and motivating. I really appreciate her way of explaining the language, there's no room left for confusion or misinterpretation. She's also fun! I really enjoy my time with her each week. :)

Having already memorized Hiragana and Katakana prior the lesson makes is boost the learning process! Huge difference in the amount of information you learned in one lesson. Lovee your attention on pronunciation. Way to go!!
