About Mia

Having lived in Madrid for most of my life and recently moved to the UK, I understand both the challenges of learning a language and the experience of adapting to a new culture. This allows me to help students not only learn Spanish, but also gain a deeper understanding of Spanish customs, everyday life and cultural differences. This can be particularly valuable for those planning to travel, study or relocate to Spain.

About the lesson

- GCSE, A-Level & IB Exam Preparation:
I support students with grammar, writing, vocabulary, speaking exams, literature and exam technique. As a native Spanish speaker who completed the IB (6/7 in Spanish A: Language & Literature) and the IB (6/7 in English B HL: Language), I help students prepare for GCSE, A-Level and IB Spanish, tailoring lessons to their exam board and goals. I am also happy to help students studying La Casa de Bernarda Alba, La Ciudad y los Perros, Luces de Bohemia and Madame Bovary.

- Speaking Confidence:
After four years of competitive debating and reaching the national semi-finals, I developed strong communication and public-speaking skills. I can help students improve confidence in speaking exams, presentations, interviews and everyday conversation.

- Method of teaching: As a Psychology student I am currently involved in research on learning and curiosity, researching how people learn most effectively. My lessons are designed to be intrinsically motivating, encouraging curiosity and long-term engagement.
For students based locally, lessons can go beyond traditional tutoring. Depending on the student's goals, we can incorporate conversation walks, cultural activities, real-life scenarios and practical discussions that help bring the language to life.
