About Cecilia A

About Me
I have a strong background in child sexual abuse prevention, professional coaching, and teaching—so creating safe, supportive learning spaces is second nature to me. I was raised in a bilingual Mexican household in northern Illinois and studied Spanish Language and Hispanic Studies.

Now based in Illinois north shore suburbs, I love working with young learners and tailoring Spanish lessons to be fun, culturally rich, and age-appropriate. My approach emphasizes patience, play, and real-life communication to help kids build confidence and curiosity in their language learning journey.

I also support learners who want to improve their Spanish for work, academics, or study abroad. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and tailored to your goals—whether that’s mastering grammar, sharpening pronunciation, or developing cultural fluency.

About the lesson

My lessons are centered around dynamic, conversation-based learning that helps students actively use Spanish in real-life contexts. I tailor each session to the student's level, goals, and learning style—whether that’s improving pronunciation, building vocabulary, or developing listening and speaking confidence.

A warm-up or casual check-in to ease into Spanish mode

I strongly believe that language learning goes hand-in-hand with cultural exploration, so I often incorporate elements from Latin America and Spain to deepen understanding and engagement. My goal is to make every lesson feel relevant, empowering, and fun—whether you’re learning for school, work, travel, or personal growth.
