About Irene

¡Hola! I’m Irene, a native Spanish-speaking conversation tutor for adults, online, based in the UK, certified in Introduction to Teaching Spanish (Introducción a la enseñanza del español) by the Instituto Cervantes in London, with a Bachelor degree in Mass Communication.

I know exactly what it feels like to learn a language: the nerves, the 'tip of the tongue' moments, and finally, that amazing feeling when you actually connect with someone in their own language.

I’m here to help you reach that 'aha!' moment. I specialise in natural, fun, and dynamic real-life Spanish conversation practice for adult learners who understand the grammar, but struggle to speak confidently in real-life situations. Whether you're learning for travel, moving to a Spanish-speaking country, or simply pursuing a lifelong passion, my lessons are tailored to help you build confidence, speak naturally, and enjoy the process.

About the lesson

What My Lessons Are Like:

Real-Life Conversation Practice for Adults. In our 1-hour online lessons, you do 70% of the talking. We’ll dive into topics you actually care about, such as:

* Role-plays for Travel, Work and Life: Navigating daily life, ordering at a restaurant, checking into a hotel, or practising a mock job interview.
* Current Events & Culture: Discussing what’s happening in the Spanish-speaking world, literature and arts.
* Idioms & Slang: Learning how people actually talk on the streets of several Spanish-speaking countries.
* Your Custom Topics: After our first lesson, we can tailor future lessons entirely around your interests, whether that’s your favourite hobby, a specific industry topic, or a book you’re reading. Every lesson is built around your goals!

Every lesson includes:

* A relaxed, judgement-free environment.
* Real-time corrections (without interrupting your flow!).
* A 'Key Vocabulary' pre-lesson sheet so you feel prepared before we chat.
* Customised post-lesson review notes containing new words and corrections from our session.
* A specific topic or goal you have in mind.

My Teaching Style:

I’m patient, high-energy, and I love a good laugh. I believe that one of the best ways to learn is through practice: getting things right and making mistakes along the way. Because of this, I create a safe space where you can trip over your verbs until they become second nature. Based in the UK (GMT/BST), I design my schedule to offer optimal flexibility for both local and international adult learners.

Ready to build your confidence and speak naturally? First lesson free to see if we're a good fit!

Book your first lesson today and let's get started! Nos vemos pronto :)
