About Xaviera
I am a Chilen-German Spanish teacher with a background in philosophy of language and secondary education. I have been teaching Spanish part-time since I settled in the UK five years ago. I also work as a consultant and translator in the environmental sector working for international conservation projects. I hold a distinction MSc in environmental politics from UCL.
I have tought nearly 100 students in London of all ages. I can provide excellent references and sucess stories, including students improving from a D to an A and B on A level exams.

I have a student centred approach to teaching and always tailor my lessons to my students' particular needs. I will focus on what works for your particular learning style and we will build on the subjects and themes that interest you. If you need to concentrate on improving your conversation skills or to improve your grammar for an exam we will do exactly that.
I like to support students in becoming independent learners who are at the centre of their learning process. This means that I encourage students to give me feedback and to bring questions and materials to investigate during the lessons. When you finish the lessons you will know where to find answers in the future and how to continue to expand your language skills on your own.
When I teach grammar I like to give students a solid framework by teaching them complete structures and not just bits and pieces they then struggle to put together.
My lessons are fun and relaxed, mistakes are always allowed, and we work at your pace.
