  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I teach Western Classical Piano along with music theory, history, and musical appreciation, and I prepare students for international examinations such as 'Trinity College London'. I began learning music as a hobby at the age of 13, without realizing it would later become my profession. Although I also play Bollywood and pop music, Western classical music has always been my foundation because of its discipline and structure. I love how this form of music balances technical precision with emotional expression, allowing musicians to connect across different ages and cultures. Performances and graded examinations shaped my journey by teaching me consistency, confidence, and respect for the art, and naturally led me towards teaching and sharing this understanding of music with others.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching became a part of my life very naturally when I started guiding students at the same academy where I was learning at the age of 15. I was inspired by my first piano teacher, my parents, and my own journey, as music helped me grow both personally and professionally. Seeing my students improve gives me immense pride, especially when they achieve distinctions in international examinations through my approach. I strongly believe that music builds discipline, focus, and coordination while nurturing emotional expression. Having taught over 140+ students of different ages and nationalities, I feel deeply connected to their musical journeys and remain motivated to be a part of their growth.
  • How does your work help society?

Music has a profound impact on society in many meaningful ways. It serves as a form of emotional expression and therapy, especially for children with different abilities, super busy working professionals and so on; helping them connect, communicate, and regulate emotions. Music also supports cognitive development by enhancing memory, focus, discipline, and coordination. Beyond technical ability, it builds confidence, patience, and resilience. It brings people together across cultures and backgrounds, fostering empathy and creativity. In today’s fast-paced world, music offers emotional balance and personal growth, helping create more mindful and emotionally healthy individuals.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is 'Hans Zimmer' & 'Tchaikovsky' because of their powerful musicality and the way their compositions tell stories beyond words. Their work inspired me to explore composition, orchestral writing, and cinematic and game music. I admire how their music creates emotion, mystery, and depth, and I try to reflect this storytelling approach in my own work. I also share composition insights with my students, encouraging them to think creatively, and some of them have even begun creating their own original music, which I find deeply rewarding.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy staying active through martial arts, expressing myself through drawing and cooking, and exploring new places through travel. I also enjoy content creation, as it allows me to combine creativity with communication in a modern way. One of my favorite simple pleasures is visiting cafés and enjoying coffee for the ambience. I love spending time in nature and taking long walks with my pet pug, Shiro, who brings a lot of joy and balance into my life. These hobbies keep me energized, creative, and emotionally grounded, and help me bring positivity into my work.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my most memorable experiences has been preparing shy students for their first international piano examinations. Many of them begin with low confidence and fear of making mistakes, but through consistent practice and encouragement, I have seen them grow into confident performers. When they achieve distinctions, the joy is not only in the result but in the transformation they undergo as individuals. What touches me most is that my students often see me not just as a teacher, but as someone they can rely on and feel comfortable with. Watching them develop a genuine love for music and the courage to express themselves reminds me why teaching is so meaningful to me.
