About Nina

I am a 20-year-old university student in Leeds. I have studied songwriting for five years and achieved a Distinction in my songwriting diploma through BIMM Brighton as part of my college qualification. I also hold a Grade 8 Singing certificate from Trinity Music, as well as a Commended Entry and Special Mention certificate from the UK Songwriting Competition (UKSC). I am incredibly passionate about songwriting and believe that my years of experience can help guide and inspire future songwriters. I am a self-taught guitarist and have experience teaching young people guitar. Additionally, I hold a DBS Check certificate, ensuring a safe and professional learning environment. I am looking for young people who are just as enthusiastic about songwriting as I am and who are ready to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and have fun making music.

About the lesson

I love helping young people (ages 7–15) discover their voice, express themselves, and have fun creating music that’s truly their own. In my lessons, we’ll cover the usual stuff like lyrics, melody, and song structure, but I also like to explore some of the more exciting and unusual parts of songwriting, like: - Playing with rhythm and silence to make your songs feel more alive - Reusing melodies or ideas in clever ways to give your songs unity - Hidden meanings in lyrics — saying more without spelling it out - Cool chord twists that give your songs a unique sound - Matching words and melody naturally so your songs sound authentic - Creating emotional journeys that take your listeners on a ride -Fun challenges and limits to spark creativity Every lesson is hands-on, relaxed, and tailored to you. We’ll write songs together, explore new ideas, and even cover performing, recording, and sharing your music — all in a supportive, encouraging space. Whether you’re writing your first song or polishing one for performance, my goal is to help you make music that feels like you — fun, creative, and full of heart.
