My main philosophy when teaching the natural sciences is to first develop an understanding of what motivates the topic in question before approaching the details. A common-sense understanding of the problem at hand gives us the intuition we need to make connections between concepts.
With this foundation, we can approach problems in a number of different ways. We all learn differently, but everyone can find an understanding of mathematics with a professional who is able to adapt to their unique way of understanding.
I am a research mathematician with a Masters degree in Mathematics from Queen's University and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of British Columbia. I have tutored independently and through a private company in Toronto for the past 4 years, at levels from elementary to AP and IB.
As an ex-student, I am flexible with my rates if you would like to contact me. My cancellation policy is 2hrs notice, or forfeit half the planned lesson fee.
