About Jane

As a dedicated and experienced tutor, I am committed to providing a supportive environment for my students to excel and achieve their academic goals. I have been tutoring since I was in high school and it's something that I'm very passionate about. There's nothing that warms my heart more than hearing about how a student aced an exam, went from a C+ to an A, or made the honor roll since being tutored by me. These are the types of improvements that motivate me to continue tutoring students.

About the lesson

I'm a firm believer that math is only as fun as the person who's teaching it to you. I like to teach my students the same way I would've liked to be taught, with a focus on making difficult concepts easier to understand. I typically start with homework help and then move to test prep based off the student's needs. Once I see that the student is grasping the concepts, I like to come up with my own practice tests to really test their understanding and even incorporate some educational games like Kahoot! and Jeopardy to make learning more fun. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I'm very patient with my students and I try to relate to them as I'm currently a student myself. Even though I'm there as a math tutor, I use my background as a student, an older sibling, and a coach to make the tutoring sessions more personable.
