About Michelle

I have experience working with students of various learning styles. As an undergraduate student, the piano was my main instrument in college. While technique and note accuracy are important, I help students develop a "growth mindset" by recognizing small improvements in their playing. as well as recognizing when students are able to work through tricky areas with less frustration. I can show students the most effective ways to practice and give suggestions to see the fastest results in their playing.

About the lesson

Hello! I have 27 years of experience teaching music in the classroom and 20+ years teaching piano privately. I consider myself a very patient and positive teacher that works well withwith children and adults all ages. My piano lessons may include ear training and music theory. Lessons can be customized to fit the interests of the students. Although I am classically trained, I can play and teach many styles.

I have a few spots in my schedule for in-person lessons and more availability during the summer.

I teach online later in the evenings (EST) and weekend mornings. Although I am in EST, my schedule may be most convenient fire PST or another time zone. I will have more availability in the summer. Please ask me if you are looking for a certain time.
