About GEN

I am an experienced Japanese teacher from Kobe, Japan, and I have been teaching learners worldwide online for several years. My lessons cover JLPT N5–N2, grammar, conversation, and everyday Japanese. I do not speak German—the lessons are conducted in Japanese or English. With clear structure, practical examples, and plenty of patience, I help children, teenagers, and adults achieve their goals step by step.

About the lesson

Hello and welcome! I teach Japanese online, live from Kobe (Japan), for learners all over the world. In my lessons, I not only cover textbook grammar but also authentic expressions that are truly used in everyday Japanese, as well as language for cultural contexts and real-life situations in Japan. I currently teach learners from many countries—especially in Southeast Asia and increasingly in Africa. Their goals vary: preparing for the JLPT, communicating while travelling, or learning out of personal interest. It is particularly noteworthy that teachers of other languages—such as English and Spanish—actively choose my classes. The fact that language professionals participate and recommend my lessons is the clearest proof of their quality—a strong sign that my method stands up to expert scrutiny. My teaching method combines textbooks with clearly structured PowerPoint slides. I explain content in small, manageable steps (micro-input) and put it to use immediately in short dialogues and role-plays (micro-output). I pair grammar practice with interactive formats such as role-plays, conversation exercises, and listening comprehension. Learners at N5 to N2 (approximately A1 to B2) practice step by step to apply their knowledge directly in real conversations: for beginners at N5/A1, this includes simple self-introductions or shopping situations; for advanced learners at N2/B2, more complex discussions or understanding news articles. Every lesson begins with a brief review to build confidence; I then explain new grammar or expressions in clear, bite-sized steps and integrate them right away into speaking practice. At the end, you receive practical tasks or tips to help you consolidate what you’ve learned in daily life. My courses are open to all age groups—children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Whether you live in Japan, are planning a trip or study programme, or are simply interested in the language and culture, the lessons are tailored to your goals. Fees: £18 for a 55-minute lesson; £11 for a 25-minute lesson. Payment: Credit cards and other common methods are accepted, so you can book with confidence. Format: Lessons are conducted online via Google Meet—there are no transportation costs. Materials: If we use textbooks I already own, there is no materials fee.
