About Emily

With my extensive academic background and professional experience, I offer a premium tutoring service designed to help you excel. I hold a First Class Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a Distinction MSc in Public Policy and Philosophy from the London School of Economics. I currently work as a Policy Analyst, and with over four years of part-time tutoring experience and a year teaching in a school in Strasbourg with the British Council, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each session.
My education at some of the world's most prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge and the LSE, equips me with deep insights and understanding that I pass on to my students. I have provided over 400 hours of personalised one-on-one politics tuition to a diverse range of students, from children to MA students, helping them achieve their academic goals. My work has been published twice, and I have held a research position at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at Oxford University, focusing on applied ethics. This experience enriches my tutoring, particularly in areas of ethics, politics, and philosophy. Having received one-on-one tutorials from world-class academics at Cambridge, I understand the value of tailored education and strive to make this level of learning accessible to my students. My experience working in public policy within the civil service adds a practical dimension to my teaching, especially in subjects like politics and philosophy. I am passionate about teaching and committed to delivering a tutoring experience that is both enriching and results-oriented.

About the lesson

AVAILABILITY: I am available for lessons from the 24th of February.
I prefer to teach one on one or in small groups, to suit my discussion based approach. My tutoring is inspired by the way humanities are taught at Cambridge, with sessions focusing on developing and discussing work set, as well as explaining any confusing concepts. Each course of lessons is designed just for you, based on your goals, and focused on being exciting and engaging. Before I begin teaching, we will meet for a free half hour consultation, to establish your precise goals and needs.
My lessons include practice exams and exam technique, but I also use my experience in online tutoring to make understanding new content fun and easy, and make high grades achievable! I have over four years of online tutoring experience, and have tutored a full range of students, from children to MA students. I also completed a year's work for the British Council, teaching English for students aged 14-18.
