About Emily
With my extensive academic background and professional experience, I offer a premium tutoring service designed to help you excel. I hold a First Class Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a Distinction MSc in Public Policy and Philosophy from the London School of Economics. I currently work as a Policy Analyst, and with over four years of part-time tutoring experience and a year teaching in a school in Strasbourg with the British Council, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each session.
My education at some of the world's most prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge and the LSE, equips me with deep insights and understanding that I pass on to my students. I have provided over 400 hours of personalised one-on-one politics tuition to a diverse range of students, from children to MA students, helping them achieve their academic goals. My work has been published twice, and I have held a research position at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at Oxford University, focusing on applied ethics. This experience enriches my tutoring, particularly in areas of ethics, politics, and philosophy. Having received one-on-one tutorials from world-class academics at Cambridge, I understand the value of tailored education and strive to make this level of learning accessible to my students. My experience working in public policy within the civil service adds a practical dimension to my teaching, especially in subjects like politics and philosophy. I am passionate about teaching and committed to delivering a tutoring experience that is both enriching and results-oriented.
Whether you’re preparing for A-Levels, need support with your university studies, or want to deepen your understanding of a specific area of politics, my sessions are designed to provide the clarity, insight, and support you need to succeed.

AVAILABILITY: I am available for lessons from the 24th of February.
I prefer to teach one on one or in small groups, to suit my discussion based approach. My tutoring is inspired by the way humanities are taught at Cambridge, with sessions focusing on developing and discussing work set, as well as explaining any confusing concepts. Each course of lessons is designed just for you, based on your goals, and focused on being exciting and engaging. Before I begin teaching, we will meet for a free half hour consultation, to establish your precise goals and needs.
My lessons include practice exams and exam technique, but I also use my experience in online tutoring to make understanding new content fun and easy, and make high grades achievable! I have over four years of online tutoring experience, and have tutored a full range of students, from children to MA students. I also completed a year's work for the British Council, teaching English for students aged 14-18.

Perfect! I would not hesitate to recommend Emily. Since we started lessons together a few months ago my marks in my undergraduate essays have improved significantly. Her lessons are engaging, informative and she has given me a lot of clarity. Emily's subject knowledge is exceptional and I feel like no question is too difficult for her. She also makes very helpful and detailed suggestions to help me improve my essays.
- I have had occasional lessons with Fleur over an extended period, and her mental flexibility and ability to apply our discussions to her work is excellent, as is her organisation.See the response Emily :

Emily really helped me with the areas of my work I struggled with. She gave me focused advice, whilst being reassuring and encouraging. I really enjoyed her tutoring and would be sure to recommend her to anyone looking to improve their skills !
Emily is a very patient and articulate teacher, with a great deal of knowledge of her subject. Loved learning from her!
Emily is a keen and highly intelligent person. She has a real interest in philosophy and is able to explain complex ideas that she has encountered in a really effective and accessible way. She is highly personable and I would thoroughly recommend her as a tutor.
Emily was very friendly and made me feel at ease. She explained everything in a concise and cognitive manner and was clearly very knowledgeable about her subject. She was open to discussion. I couldn't have asked for a better tutor
