I follow a pedagogical approach of collaborative curriculum construction, meaning that I believe learners should be actively involved in the production of class curriculums. Through my lessons, I hope to help students develop skills in artistic discourse, critical thinking and creative exploration. My lesson and curriculum plans typically include cross-curricular competencies and multi media projects. My strongest values in Art Education include adaptability, mutual engagement and fun.
I am a Concordia University student graduating with a BFA in Art Education. I have been actively involved in the artist community in Montreal/Tiohtia:ke for the past four years, having participated in a number of group exhibits and working with many local artists. I have gained experience teaching art through various internships in Art Education, wherein I worked with kids of all ages as well as adults and senior citizens. I have also gained a great deal of experience working with kids through childcare, which has helped me learn how to incorporate education into play, a value I believe to be important for adults and children alike.
