About Kate
I am a trained opera singer with an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Chichester and a masters degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I have been teaching music theory, singing and a variety of instruments for 13 years and have taught students aged 6-60 in both individual and group lessons. I have coached students for exams, auditions and performances and I have worked in schools, stage schools and privately both online and in person. I am passionate about the inclusive nature of music and that anyone can learn to read, write and perform, no matter their age, ability or background. Music can build confidence and be both a creative and intellectual pursuit. I believe that, ultimately, music must be fun.

I am passionate about helping my students to enjoy learning how to read music notation and to understand the world of written music. I can teach absolute beginners to grade 5, all ages and abilities are welcome. The length of a lesson would be dependent on the age and ability of the student, the shortest being 15 minutes, the longest being 45 minutes. Whether you’re a child who needs help passing their music grades, a student who wants support during their GCSE’s or A levels, or an adult who wants to continue their learning in a fun and supportive environment.
