About Niall

Hi there, I'm Niall (he/him)! I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor with a profound passion for storytelling, literature, and helping students unlock their full potential.

My background is uniquely diverse, which allows me to bring a well-rounded and highly adaptable approach to my teaching.

I don't just teach writing; I do it. For over six years, I have actively shared my creative work online. I am a firm believer in education being a life-long experience, which is why I am currently working through the National Centre for Writing's specialised course in Science Fiction.

About the lesson

Whether you want to ace your GCSE English Language and/or Literature exams or craft your first story, I am here to help you find and utilise your voice.

I teach all levels, but specialise in helping GCSE students, as well as beginner and intermediate creative writers build their confidence.

My approach is highly personalised. Whether you need structured, exam-focused prep or a relaxed and conversational space; we will figure out exactly what works for you.

Lessons feature interactive activities. We can do them together, or you can complete them in your own time. There is never any pressure to complete the interactive activities.

I will also send over all teaching materials after class so you can recap whenever you want.

For lesson lengths, I recommend 1-hour lessons, but I am happy to arrange shorter or longer sessions to fit your schedule. Just pop me a message!

For my academic background: I am currently studying for a BA in International Relations at the Open University, and I have years of experience guest-lecturing on a university Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course.

For my writing expertise: I have been writing and engaging in peer review for over six years. I am also currently completing the National Centre for Writing's Writing Science Fiction Bundle, focusing on world-building, character development, and plotting.
