About Vladyslav
Hello! I’m a Doctor of Optometry student (OD1) with an honors degree in chemistry from Connecticut College. I scored in the near-perfect range on the Optometry Admission Test (OAT) and received the American Institute of Chemists award for excellence in chemistry.
I spent two and a half years in a laser spectroscopy research lab, where I completed an honors thesis and co-authored a paper. I have also tutored students in chemistry as well as the DAT and OAT, so I know what the exams demand and where students tend to struggle.
I’m patient, organized, and focused on results. Whether you’re building a foundation in general chemistry, working through organic chemistry, or pushing for a top exam score, I’ll meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be.

I teach chemistry through problems, not lectures. Every concept gets a worked example, and then you solve similar problems while I watch your reasoning. When you get one wrong, we trace back to the exact step where it went off track, whether that was a misread question, a missing concept, or just a brain slip, so we fix the cause rather than just the answer. I also teach a repeatable method for unfamiliar problems: identify what the question is asking, list what you know, choose the relevant concept, set up the solution, and check that the answer makes sense. My goal is to teach you to think through unfamiliar questions, not just recognize ones you’ve already practiced.
