About Angus
I began my teaching career in Edinburgh working with both English and Scottish exam boards. I then moved overseas and began my engagement with the IB Diploma Programme. I have taught in three different international schools and delivered a range of subjects. I have also held a variety of roles that have given me an insight into the wider programme and ways in which I can support students achieve their goals, including aspirations for tertiary education institutions.
The common thread throughout my teaching career has been chemistry and as well as helping students enjoy the subject by appreciating a topic's wider implications, I am also able to ensure they maximise their marks through my experience as an examiner. I am a patient, responsive individual who encourages problem solving as part of the learning process.

'Learning is what happens when people think, hard' was a quote I heard from an education expert and is something I adhere to. Over the course of an hour lesson session you can expect to feel challenged and pushed to support you in meeting your academic goals. This is achieved through inquiry based learning built on a blend of discussion, questioning and problem solving. The lesson is a positive, encouraging, safe space where you can take risks with your thinking.
I have supported students through GCSEs, A-levels and IBDP syllabuses and tailored my approach to meet the individual's needs and learning preferences.
