About Thomas
I am currently a 4th year engineer at Oxford University. I have previously tutored in maths, and run a coding club at a local school. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my knowledge through these experiences, and have decided to put myself out as a tutor again to continue adding to STEM literacy in the next generation. Although mathematics and science may not be everyone's desired path, I firmly believe that every individual has the ability to understand more than they think they are capable of and that scientific thinking is important even for those that don't want to pursue a career in STEM.

My style of STEM tutoring focuses on understanding the core physical processes behind problem questions, rather than explicitly memorising formulae. This adds an extra layer of resilience - if a student forgets part of a formula or solution step, they will be able to derive an educated guess from their deeper understanding of the topic. From exam and interview experience, I also have some handy tips and tricks to check your work and take shortcuts through some of the trickier question papers!
