About Maya
I am an A-Level Year 12 student studying English Literature, Psychology, and History, with predicted A*AA, and I am a highly passionate and motivated person who strives to help others and aid in their learning. I tutor on the side and also did a few months of dental work experience in the summer of Year 11 which helped me to see how a workplace functions as well as made me realise I didn’t want to take that path in the future. Furthermore, I volunteer on a farm in my spare time and love to work with the animals. My favourite hobby is reading and I also play the guitar when I can find time amongst studying, work, and volunteering. In the future, I plan to go to university for English Literature after taking a gap year to travel Southeast Asia. I am very professional and disciplined and will ensure everyone achieves the best grades within their abilities.

I believe every child and teenager has the superstar ability to shine in education as long as they put their mind to it. I myself achieved top grades in English Literature and Language GCSEs, with high 8s in both, and am now top of my class in A-Level with a predicted A*. Due to these achievements, I have worked hard and seen firsthand how the right support can lead to amazing results and I will push your child to achieve even higher than the grades they want while simultaneously making the subject fun and engaging to share my love of English Literature with them. I take a calm and patient approach to teaching, and have even helped my friends who had to retake English in sixth form to achieve 7s and 8s, up from 2s and 3s. Most of all I strive to tap into the intelligence that I know every child has and facilitate their learning. My lessons can vary from 45 minutes to 2 hours and I have many different formats for different age groups and reading levels, from 11 plus to GCSE. I have also been tutoring on the side with a company for a few months now and made great progress with the GCSE students, with some even coming back after their exams to thank me and eagerly talk about the questions.
