About Ewan

Hi there! I've been tutoring privately for 5 years this year and I love helping my students improve their grades and their confidence in our lessons.

I have an MA in History from the University of Edinburgh and I'm currently a postgraduate candidate at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. When I'm not studying or teaching, I can often be found helping out with undergraduate essays or watching linguistics videos on YouTube.

I understand how frustrating it can be to find a subject difficult, and I know students shut down when they feel left behind. My main goal will always be to help students enjoy what we are learning. I have consistently found we learn faster and retain information longer with this approach.

All my lessons are entirely personalised. When you book a lesson with me, I take all the information you provide to create an individual lesson plan. If one approach doesn’t work, we’ll try another and keep going until we make progress together.

If you have any questions, or want to learn more about my approach or what our lessons could look like, check out the rest of my profile or feel free to get in touch!

About the lesson

I have a very flexible approach to how I teach. This means lesson plans are custom to every student.

If the same learning method worked for everyone, then you wouldn’t be here. We’ll start by having a conversation, then we’ll try something. If that doesn’t work, we’ll try something different.

Lessons are typically one hour, but this can be adjusted depending on your needs.
I offer English and History tutorship for students at any stage from 11+ to A-level. If you need specific exam prep or have special requirements please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
