About Lloyd

I have just received my Master’s in Flute Performance from the Royal Academy of Muisc, with Distinction and DipRAM; I previously read Music at Cambridge University. Studying at these institutions and performing to the likes of Sir James Galway and Emmanuel Pahud have allowed me to receive input from some of the best in the world; I hope to be able to share what I have learned from these inspiring people.

I have a vast range of performance experience in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings - both as a student and in professional contexts. I have played side-by-side with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Hallé, and have also worked with the Britten Sinfonia and Knussen Chamber Orchestra.

I have an LRSM in Flute Performance, as well as Grade 8 Distinction in Recorder, Bassoon, and Saxophone.

About the lesson

All ages and abilities welcome!

My lessons are tailored to the individual needs and interests of the student - whether you want to take graded exams or simply get more out of your playing. As I get to know you, I will be able to choose music which is both suited to your needs and which you will enjoy. After all, I want my students to leave their lessons feeling inspired and motivated to practise!

I believe it's important to build a strong technical foundation (proper posture, good breathing, finger technique etc.) while also developing a student's creativity and musicality - this will provide long-lasting enjoyment and the easiest progress.

I incorporate music theory and broader musical context into my lessons so that students have a wider appreciation of the music they are engaging with and can develop their interests.

And, most importantly, my aim is to help you have fun with music!
