About Lila

I am a singing tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice. My passion lies in ear training, harmony, and melody, and I truly believe in the transformative power of music. I teach a wide range of styles, including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and movie singing, tailoring lessons to each student’s unique goals. My focus is on strong vocal training, music theory, sight singing, and performance techniques. I work with school students, college learners, and aspiring professionals, helping them develop confidence and skill. Improvisation and composition are also key parts of my teaching, alongside music history and technology. I create a supportive and inspiring environment where creativity can flourish. About the lesson

My singing methodology focuses on vocal wellness and mindfulness to support both The Soloist in Training and The Church Ensemble Player. Warm-ups are essential; I guide students through gentle scales and breathing exercises to prepare the voice without strain. Hydration is key—drinking water regularly keeps vocal cords healthy and flexible.

Healthy vocal placement helps prevent tension and promotes clear, resonant sound. I teach techniques that encourage natural voice use, emphasizing ease over force. Both personas learn to balance vocal goals with mental calm through mindfulness practices like short meditation or breathing timers before singing. This keeps the mind focused and reduces performance anxiety.

Using vocal tracking apps, students can monitor pitch and progress, while guided breathwork tools support steady airflow and control. Mindfulness timers help maintain focus during practice and build a joyful connection to singing.

This approach nurtures long-term voice care and encourages a positive, stress-free singing experience. Whether preparing for a solo or blending in an ensemble, students grow in skill and confidence. The joy of singing remains at the heart of every lesson.
