About Forest
From academics to worldly adventures, I’ve found immense learning and growth from taking risks and stepping out of my comforts to try things on and have a vast array of life experience that I hope would foster a more happy and healthy life as a young person in the world.
As someone who’s overcome an immense amount of obstacles in my younger life I’ve found personal lived experience to be extremely valuable compared to just holding a certificate or degree when it comes to navigating the complexities of life

Direct experience from someone who’s lived and is living a very unorthodox lifestyle growing up homeschooled, to navigating public school, going to college and then realizing there was so much more I was interested in pursuing and experiencing in life -eventually leading me to working and living abroad for several years.
7 years later I’ve had 20+ plus jobs and volunteering positions in several countries around the world. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the outdoors on solo adventures biking and hiking across multiple countries and states, rock climbing and simply living outside.
I’ve also pursued a lot of personal development & self discovery conducive environments including volunteering at Buddhist centers, partaking in 10 day silent meditation retreats, and many workshops alike.
Permaculture courses, internships on farms, and skill building in the trades, all contributed to developing a deep sense of confidence and self reliance whilst living in a rather chaotic and confusing world where finding direction and “your place in the world” is challenging. Especially in the age of the internet and so much influence from social media, it’s great to be able to connect with someone who has that lived experience and chronicled the journey and lessons that come with figuring life out in a very alternative way.
I would hope these discussions would inspire creativity, happiness, and a sense of fulfillment to those looking for direction while at a crossroad or a place of curiosity.
