About Emma

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from York University and I am currently completing my last year in the Bachelor of Education program at Lakehead University in Orillia. I work both in Orillia, Barrie, Brampton and surrounding areas. I have also completed my FSL (French as a second language) additional qualification to teach in schools.

About the lesson

Teachers have a responsibility to educate and prepare students to navigate the current realities of our world. As a teacher of French as a second language, my role is to transmit the language and all the benefits that come with the acquisition of the language. These benefits include culture, language skills, health, economic and academic benefits. To support the role of the teacher, students, parents and even community members, each plays an equally important role for students to achieve a level of global citizenship, with an open mind of the world.

The learning environment should always be a space where students feel comfortable and safe to communicate in French. They will be motivated to take risks, make discoveries and grow together in order to strengthen their transferable skills in their daily lives. The ultimate goal is for students to look forward to being learners throughout their lives.
