About Henry
Hello! I am a passionate plant scientist and researcher holding a PhD in Plant Genetics and a Master’s degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding. While my research specialization is rooted in plants, the beauty of biotechnology lies in its universality—the core principles of genetics, DNA technology, and molecular biology are the exact same across all living organisms. My deep academic journey has given me a comprehensive, rock-solid mastery of these foundational concepts, allowing me to bridge the gap between complex science and practical biotechnology.
Teaching and mentoring have been a driving force throughout my career. I began tutoring during my undergraduate years, where I specialized in helping students prepare for supplementary exams by breaking down intimidating topics into clear, logical steps. Following graduation, I spent nine months tutoring at my alma mater, and more recently, from 2017 to 2020, I served as a Laboratory Demonstrator at the University of Tasmania. This extensive hands-on experience means I don't just teach theory; I know exactly how molecular concepts translate into practical laboratory techniques.
Whether you are navigating undergraduate molecular biology, mastering recombinant DNA technology, or trying to clear a tough exam, my sessions are tailored to your pace. I focus on highly interactive, concept-driven learning that connects abstract biotechnology to real-world applications, ensuring you build both the understanding and the confidence to succeed. Let’s unlock the world of biotech together!

Every student’s academic journey is unique, which is why my lessons are completely customized to meet your specific needs, syllabus, and learning goals. Biotechnology can often feel abstract and heavy with complex laboratory concepts, but I believe the most effective way to learn is to bring the science out of the textbook. In our sessions, I make a conscious effort to bridge the gap between complex theories and daily life, linking concepts like genetic modification, cloning, or enzyme technology to practical, real-world situations that you can easily visualize and understand.
Our lessons are designed to be highly interactive, two-way conversations where we tackle challenging topics together in real-time. To ensure you maintain a healthy academic balance and avoid study burnout, I consciously avoid assigning heavy after-hours tasks or tedious homework. Instead, we do the heavy lifting during our class time. My goal is to make sure that by the end of each session, you have a crystal-clear, intuitive grasp of the material and the confidence to apply it to your exams, leaving your free time entirely your own.
