About Casey
I am currently a PhD candidate working at the intersection of conservation, animal behavior, and acoustic ecology. I have over ten years of teaching experience, including curriculum design and teaching in introductory biology, marine ecology, mammalogy, field mammalogy, and genetics. I'm also a violin/fiddle instructor!

Science isn't just a body of (ever-changing) knowledge, but a creative truth seeking procedure. Starting from this, I help students shift from thinking of material as isolated facts to ideas connected through core concepts. Once this clicks, learning biology can become intuitive; when information scaffolds naturally upon layers of understanding, new material is be easier to understand and remember.
We can start with whatever you're working on and figure out why something isn't making sense. I am good at identifying roadblocks to understanding and finding creative, personalized ways around them; I'll connect material to larger ideas so it sticks for you. I will help help with homework, test preparation, lab reports, and study design.
