About Neil
I have four degrees and am a doctor of philosophy. I have written several books such as:
The Philosophy of Global Warming (2014)
An Evolutionary Perspective on the Relationship between Humans and their Surroundings: Geoengineering, the Purpose of Life and the Nature of the Universe (2012)
Is the Human Species Special? Why human-induced global warming could be in the interests of life (2010)
I have a BA in Economics, a first-class BSc in Environmental Studies, an MA in Philosophy (distinction) and a PhD in Philosophy. I have also been published in the academic journal 'Cosmos and History' and have won an international prize essay competition.
I am happy to tutor students who are taking courses in environmental studies, environmental philosophy, philosophy and economics. I am also able to provide advice concerning study techniques, revising and exam preparation.
In addition to the above, I am very happy to meet anyone who would like to discuss general philosophical issues concerning the meaning of life, the nature of reality, the unfolding of our Solar System, how the human species has a cosmic purpose, and the relationship between all of this and the current 'environmental crisis' and human-induced global warming.
