About Samarah

Hi, I'm a student just like yourself and I know how sometimes we can need a little extra support in order to achieve the grades that we want and are capable of achieving. I was extremely lucky to have 2 amazing tutors, one for GCSE maths and another for economics, so I know what it is also like to be on the other end as well as the impact it can have on results and confidence in the subject. I want our sessions to be what works best for you! I'm always open to new ideas, approaches or changes in plans if you find you need extra help with a different topic as well as constructive criticism. I'm here to help.

About the lesson

There isn't a one size fits all approach when tutoring students. This is why with every student we will spend part of the first session figuring out and understanding the different areas of work, the teaching style that works best and any gaps in knowledge. From here I will tailor the lessons to best suit the student's needs; whether that be exam practice, essay guidance or ensuring an understanding of different topics and materials. I also encourage feedback from students at the end of every lesson, in order to gauge what areas the student might need further support in and anything I might need to change in my teaching approach. I will also commence all sessions with a quick recap of the previous session's work as active recall is scientifically proven to help build long-term memory. I am offering tutoring for: Primary school students in all subjects. GCSE English, history and RE. A-level politics, history and economics. All lessons are to be online or hybrid. I understand some students may prefer to have their camera off - this is not an issue for me at all. Undergraduate at the University of Oxford for Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I achieved A*A*AA at A-Level for politics, Spanish, history and economics respectively. I achieved 9 grade A**/9's and 2 grades A*/8's at GCSE (2021). I have previously tutored primary school students part-time whilst also offering student-student tutoring within school.
